Tips for Visiting Disneyland for Disney World Locals and First Timers

Here are tips for visiting Disneyland for the first time but more particularly if you’re a Walt Disney World regular. Things are a little bit different compared to how things are done in Central Florida.

    1. The Size Difference
First difference obviously is the size. Disneyland is much smaller but more important to the guest is that the parks are closer together. The main gate to Disneyland is about a Par 5 away from the main gate of Disney California Adventure. For those not familiar with golf, it’s about 500 yards and more apart.
    2. Park Hopping Tips
With this said, when park hopping time comes at 1pm, the lines at the main gates will be busy and the lines will definitely extend a bit. To avoid this, you can enter at the gate in Downtown Disney Monorail entrance. Another option is the entrance through the Grand California but don’t go through there in the morning as it is only available for hotel guests.
    3. Weather Tips
There’s not a lot of weather in Southern California but when it comes it really affects attractions and shows. Fireworks and other nighttime shows may get canceled due to rain and even in some cases, wind. Attractions and patio dining may get canceled for the same reasons as well. But there are always alternatives when weather strikes: Projection shows will be an ample replacement like Mickey’s Mix Magic (A personal favorite of this site. Don’t ask why, we just love the song and you should too.)

If you’re a WDW local or new to the Happiest Place on Earth you’ll experience the Magic all the same but everything is much closer together. Have a Magical Time!!!
